Ride To Conquer Cancer 2014
Housework Heroes is committed to supporting the community that we work in, and each year we make a commitment to assist charities
that make a difference. Everyone knows someone whose life has been touched by cancer, and for this reason Housework Heroes WA’s chosen charity this year is the Harry Perkin’s Institute of Medical Research.
Danielle from the Western Australian office is embarking on the 200km Ride to Conquer Cancer, Day ONE will see her ride approx. 110km into the Australian Countryside where she will set up camp for the night. She will then attempt get back on her bike and cycle the same distance back to Perth.
This is quite a challenge for her as she is not a big cyclist and has just recently bought her bike, (and is undergoing treatment for minor cuts and bruises after a few falls) none the less she is looking forward to giving it her best and getting stuck in for such a great cause.
She recently met with a Cancer Survivor who volunteers and helps out with the Ride to Conquer Cancer and they spoke about the horrifying statistics that 1 in every 2 people will suffer with some form of cancer in their lifetime! While these are the statistics – Cancer is something that I’m sure has touched every single one of us whether it be a family member, relative, close friend or even someone from your local town and we all know the demon that it is.
Danielle is committed and hoping to raising at least $2,500 for this event. To those of you who are planning to support her, please do as soon as possible as the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research uses the funds right away – so the sooner the better.
